Recent help in the gardens

This used to be an easy path to get through, that is before all the summer rains. So this is what an area looks like that needs some attention. You can just see one stone at the bottom of the picture. There are actually stones all the way through this area, which is right in front of the house. That's a Rhododendron on the right with a lot of Aisan Dayflower(Creeping Charlie) covering up the path and lots of Woodland Sunflower and Bronze Fennel behind it.
This is what it looked like just before Anne Marie and I got started on it a few weeks ago. And this is the same path after we cleaned it up. it doesn't take long to clear an area of unwanted weeds and over crowded plants.

And this is the same path after we cleaned it up. it doesn't take long to clear an area of unwanted weeds and over crowded plants. When you first look at an overgrown area, it can look like a daunting task, but once you get down on the ground an just get to it, it gets done quickly. It took less than half and hour to get through this area with the two of us working at it. Weeds went to compost, and the thinned out plants went home with Ann Marie. This area beyond the rhodo, which was overgrown by "Charlies", is full of garlic waiting to be dug up

We stopped at this spot, but you can see there is still much thinning to be done. Thanks for the help, Ann Marie.

This is a follow up email from Ann Marie:

I tried to get as much in the ground as I could yesterday, and seeing the yellow woodland sunflowers (?) in my yard really made me happy all day! ( I also forgot I had a buttocks until this morning...but the sore muscles reminded me...)

Thanks, again, for all the wonderful plants, and I will be back as soon as I can!~Ann Marie
